comment patchwork today:
The piece on compassion resonated a lot.
I really like the idea of exploring nature connectedness in contracting further- gives me loads of ideas for questions to start a coaching journey.
I was due to revise my coaching agreement template, which I havent really updated for 5 years apart from a link and a note here and there. When I do walk and talk coaching, I send a separate disclaimer/agreement and ask for an emergency contact, even if the walk and talk is remote.
I realise that in my mind I have split ‘coaching’ and ‘walk & talk /NBC’ – needless to say that integration is required. I’ll work on that.I am gradually coming to terms with the fact that I might have to do some ‘convincing’ of why it is benefitial to coach outdoors and to practice Nature-based coaching. I feel the need to play with words and how I talk about it – will explore this in my coaching sessions too.
I loved learning the petrichor word. Just smelt it this morning (and hadnt for a while, which is an unusual thing to say in England)
3-30-300 campaign: I can tick the 3 and 300 but I think my neighbourhood falls short for the 30, although it doesnt look quite bad from a quick view on Google Earth, it’s definitely not 30% canopee.

thanks for these reflections! good idea to revisit our contracts – I do too from time to time, though keep the written stuff as short as possible and talk through verbally wherever I can. 30/30/300 – I can’t tick the 3 or 30 here, but fortunately have a small green space nearby. There’s been a campaign to put planters in the street for pollinator highways…

I read this after doing the first session of being coached and being the coach. I should have gone through beforehand as it has some useful activities to try.

Thank you for sharing the infographics: 1. The Nature Connection Cycle and 2. The Nature and Health.
They help me see the whole picture without having to read pages of scientific reports. My first instinct was to look closely at “The Nature and Health” image, to understand the benefits that might motivate me to get closer to nature than I already am.
But I realized that “The Nature Connection Cycle” provides the foundation — the steps and thinking I need to grasp before the benefits can be fully appreciated.
