Having just watched the final module of the Nature-Based Coaching Skills course — Blossoming — I want to take a moment to share some personal reflections and gratitude. This felt like a gentle closing of a powerful circle, and an invitation to keep opening.

First and foremost, thank you to Laetitia, Nickie, Amanda, and of course James for holding such a thoughtful, rich session. I would have loved to be with you live, but even as a witness through the recording, I was deeply touched by the energy, honesty, and care each of you brought.

One of the things that struck me most was the wildly different ways we each approached the learning journey task. As someone who enjoys photography, I was inspired by the way others used images to convey meaning. It encouraged me to share more of my own visual reflections — while also being mindful to respect the intimacy and sanctity of my sit spot. Amanda’s feedback about being invited into that space stayed with me. It reminded me to find the balance between sharing openly and holding something quietly sacred.

Laetitia’s idea of “zooming in and zooming out” opened a new perspective for me. In my own practice, I’ve often found myself looking up at the clouds, then down at the intricate details of a leaf or the movement of a small insect. It’s a way of shifting scale — from the macro to the micro — and it mirrors the reflective arc of coaching itself. I also loved how Laetitia read the natural world as alive and responsive, noticing trees and leaves not as objects, but as living companions, drawing meaning and metaphor in real time.

Nickie’s reflection on her shift from being “in” nature to being “with” nature — and the aspiration to live “for” nature — deeply resonated with me. I think I’m somewhere in that “with” space now, gently growing toward “for.” Her reference to the 54 natural senses really brought the richness of this journey into focus. It’s clear that she is tuning in on multiple levels now — from emotional place and movement to intuition and balance. Her phrase “the science behind the stillness” was especially beautiful and stayed with me.

Amanda, thank you for your honest, insightful presence — and for being such a generous coach throughout this process. Your phrase “new ways of seeing and new ways of being” was a perfect distillation of the growth I’ve witnessed and felt over these months. Your reflections on the value of slowing down, and the unexpected richness of the action learning sets, echoed my own experience. I was also really touched by the beautiful, nostalgic photographs you shared. The image of joy and wildness in childhood — even with the occasional ashtray in the background! — reminded me of the way nature has always been present, quietly holding us through the years.

During the session, my own gratitude word was serenity, which felt beautifully aligned with the words shared by others — gratitude, warmth, clarity, and exploration. That collective expression captured something essential about our shared journey: a deepening presence, appreciation, and quiet unfolding.

Your reflections helped me realise that I’m now connecting with the place I live in new and deeper ways. I don’t just want to be here — I want to contribute, to be part of the community, and to live in a way that benefits the human and more-than-human world around me.

Thank you all for your kind words about the video I shared. It was a first for me — recording my voice, using a microphone, trying to offer something real and simple. It still felt a bit awkward, but also freeing. I’m learning to trust that process more and more.

James, I can’t thank you enough for holding this journey with such intelligence, humility, and heart. Your steady presence and thoughtful provocation have opened up so many new avenues for me. The fact that we can now revisit these materials when needed — especially during those moments of “stuckness” — feels like such a gift. I genuinely look forward to being part of this evolving network as more coaches go through the course and the community grows.

To my fellow nature-based coaches: I feel so inspired to continue walking this path with and for nature. Please know I’m here to support in whatever way I can — individually, as part of the group, or in service of James’s work. I’ll also be sharing a few testimonials to help spread the word about this course and the transformative power it holds.

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to James and all my classmates at NBCS for such a valuable and enriching course. The depth of learning was amplified by the meaningful interactions we shared, the openness in our conversations, and the willingness to support one another throughout the journey. I truly appreciated the diverse perspectives and experiences that shaped our collective learning. Moving forward, I hope to continue applying these insights and stay connected as we grow in our respective practices.
