Where do you want to go? It’s useful to have a clue – though it seems like the architect of this zebra crossing didn’t.
Sometimes we fall into holding patterns. Doing things because we’ve always done them, or in ways we have always done them.
Sometimes this can be hugely beneficial. It saves energy intensive brain power if we can put as many things on autopilot as possible. It helps us concentrate better on the task at hand. Those are certainly very neat white stripes.
Sometimes it gets in our way. Those white stripes don’t lead anywhere!
So perhaps the questions are these:
- where do you want to go?
- what does it look like?
- how will you know you are there?
- what will being there bring you?
- what should the journey be?
- what if the road runs out along the way?
