The Natural Coaching Company is planning a new ‘Nature based coaching’ course for coaches who would like to extend their practice in partnership with the natural world.
What is nature based coaching?
Nature based coaching is our approach to developing a deeper relationship with the planet and the ecological systems we depend on, for the benefit of coach and client, and to ignite action for the planet.
There are nature coach trainings out there which we heartily recommend. Some are online, many are face to face. However, we believe their are no courses which offer our unique blend of nature coaching practice, expertise in environmental science and hands-on experience in helping individuals and organisations benefit from the relationship between human and ecosystem health.
What will the training help with?
We aim for the training to help you:
- achieve a deeper understanding of why nature connection is so important, through exploration of the key scientific and psychological models and evidence
- develop your own practice of nature based coaching that is authentic, evidence-based, and impactful
- explore practically how you can meaningfully contribute to nature conservation, global heating and environmental recovery through individual and community level behaviour change
- feel part of a natural coaching community, as we evolve these ways of working in future
Who will lead the training?
The training will be developed and led by James Farrell. James is a Chartered Environmentalist, Associate Certified Coach, and expert in the science and psychology of the human-nature relationship. He is author of the book of nature-connection practices ‘Being in Nature’, award winning writer, film maker and TEDx speaker.
James hopes to tailor the course as much as possible to the participants, and over time to involve other experts and practitioners in the work.
As well as his coaching work, James is Founding Partner at The Human Nature Partnership, which is helping organisations including the NHS connect their people and places to nature. He is also a senior manager at a large public sector organisation, and Founder of Brighton & Hove Building Green.
We’d love to know what you want!
We would love to know what you would like to see in the training, so we can design the best course possible.
There is a link below to complete our short survey, which contains just three questions. It should take no longer than a minute to complete, and we won’t collect your details.
We look forward to hearing what you think. Thank you!
What other courses do you recommend?
We believe that a rising tide floats all boats. The training we are developing seeks to add value and richness to existing offerings.
If you’re interested in nature and climate coaching we would recommend courses by the following organisations: The Nature Coaching Academy, The Natural Academy, Earthself, Coaching Outdoors, and the Earth-based Institute.
